a true sign

Here is a true sign that Owen has gone from baby to boy: when he is awake at home he is playing with his matchbox cars. And I love it! Owen spends hours moving his cars from place to place (the couch, barstools, kitchen table), lining them up to his perfect satisfaction. I've seen many boys line their cars up in this same way and I've often wondered where that comes from. Where do they learn to line them up and take such good care of their cars? It must come naturally because we certainly didn't show him. I love watching him be so detailed in the way he arranges his cars.

He seems to keep track of each of his cars and has names for several of them. These two seem to be particularly important to Owen. He seems to know where they are at all times. The silver truck is "Papa's guck", which Grandpa Harrison bought him while he was visiting, and the one on the right has become "Daddy's car", I think because the gold color looks similar to Ryan's. He usually also has his "boo car" (blue car) that stays close to his side as well. As a side note Owen has book with all modes of transportation and every time he gets to the taxi he calls it "Daddy's car". For some reason it makes me laugh every time. Again, it's because it's a similar color.

Here is Owen lining up his cars in his various locations. I love it!
